But remember the bowline isn’t always the best choice. While you can break it’s back and untie it after it has been loaded up, you need slack in the line to do so. Getting slack is not always possible when a line is under tension. Be sure to keep this in mind when using the bowline… particularly with docklines. ***PLUS*** a quick tip about tieing stopper knots — something we learned the hard way 😉
